The last year of BRM in Formula One
1977 was the last year for BRM in the Formula One World Championship. The BRM P207 was known as "Stanley-BRM" and was sponsored by Rotary Watches.
On the team were Len Terry who designed a new monocoque with engine/gearbox supported by a tubular carrier. Aubrey Woods was responsible for the 60 deg. V12 four valves per cylinder engine. Alex Stokes worked on the five speed gearbox.

The last year of the team's world championship activity became less and less visible until it finally disappeared. Only Ferrari (with it's massive financial backing) was able to carry the crushing weight of design and construction of chassis, gearbox and engine.
For 1978 the Stanley-BRM contested the Aurora AFX British F1 Championship. Teddy Pilette was unable to make any real impression.
